Directions by road (from the M5)
At the end of the M5, near Exeter, follow signs for PLYMOUTH A38.
(If you have satellite navigation, a few miles beyond Exeter your system may direct you off the A38 towards Torquay. This will save a few miles, but will bring you to Dartmouth via the River Dart Ferry - which can sometimes be subject to delays)
After approximately 18 miles on the A38, turn onto the A384 - signed for TOTNES and DARTMOUTH. After 5 miles, bear left at DARTINGTON (signed Totnes & Dartmouth).
After a further 2 miles, as you enter TOTNES, pass under a pedestrian footbridge, and immediately take the right hand lane; turn right at the traffic lights on the A381 signed DARTMOUTH.
After a further 6 miles pass through the village of HALWELL, then after a further mile, turn left on the A3122 (signed DARTMOUTH).
(Satellite navigation systems may direct you to turn right off the A3122, down a minor road called ‘Venn Lane’.
If you prefer to use roads which are at least slightly wider than your car, then don't be tempted!)
After a further 5 miles, you will pass Sainsbury's on your left. Continue straight on at the small roundabout adjacent to Dartmouth ‘Park and Ride’ . Then after a ‘BP’ Garage on your right, continue down the hill for several hundred yards and turn right at a mini-roundabout on to the A379, signed STOKE FLEMING.
After a further 2 miles you enter STOKE FLEMING village (20mph restriction).Follow the road through the village, and after the sharp left bend opposite the post office, you'll see the ‘Brill Plaice’ restaurant about 50 yds ahead of you. You are going to turn right directly opposite the Brill Plaice. With the restaurant on your left, turn right just a few feet beyond the wooden bus shelter - then IMMEDIATELY LEFT into the car park. Ignore the notice which says ‘Endsleigh Court - residents only’, and park in one of the un-numbered bays on the right.
As you leave the car park you will see the Southfield House sign on your left.
Let us know you've arrived. We'll give you a hand with your luggage, and the chances are that a cup of tea won't be too far away..!
