This part of Devon
is called the
South Hams, and
those of us who
live here like
to think we've
got it all! There's
the ever-present
sea, beautiful
river valleys,
clifftops and
beaches, quiet
coves, glorious
countryside, chocolate-box
thatched villages
and bustling towns
steeped in history.
We have the stone circles and monuments
of our stone-age ancestors, centuries old
castles and churches, prosperous merchants'
houses, rugged harbours, and stately homes
surrounded by magnificent gardens.
And just to make absolutely certain our
visitors don't get bored - we also have
sailing, fishing, diving, golf courses,
wonderful walks, steam trains, museums,
river trips, festivals, regattas, and pubs
and restaurants that you simply won't want
to leave!
Our ancient and excellent Stoke Fleming loval pub is the delightful Green Dragon Pub - well worth a visit!
